In the press conference ahead of Liverpool's visit to Wembley to play Tottenham, Jurgen Klopp was once again questioned about the future of Coutinho, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants did not manage to sign the Brazilian playmaker during the summer, but they could come to an agreement over a transfer during the January window. Meanwhile, Klopp is trying to avoid talking about the situation.
"We don't talk about things like this," said the Liverpool boss. "Can you imagine what it would be like if I said, 'Yes, we have an agreement?'"
"In this moment, the 100 percent truth is that nobody thinks about this. We don't talk about it, why should we?"
However, the German coach did not flatly deny that Coutinho could leave for Barca in the future, and acknowledged that the club need to play their part to convince the players to stay.
He added: "In general, as a club, we have to still create a situation where players want to be part of it with all they have.
"In this moment, we have this. Nobody thinks about January, nobody thinks of June or July. Everyone wants to be part of this but there will come transfer windows and we will see what happens."
Spanish publication 'Mundo Deportivo', reported that there could already be an agreement between the Brazil international and his current club for him to sign for Barcelona in January, so it would appear that the transfer saga which dominated the summer is not over quite yet.
