More than 30 Brazilians have turned out for Barcelona over the years, the majority during this very century. Here is a list of the best Brazilians to have graced the turf at the Camp Nou over the years but who eventually, for one reason or another, quit the club
Romario
After two stunning seasons at the Camp Nou, the controversial Brazilian striker decided he missed Rio De Janeiro and returned to his homeland to play for Flamengo. The player scored an impressive 34 goals in 46 games for the Catalans.
Ronaldo
His lone season with Barcelona is etched into the history books. At the age of just 20, he enjoyed an exceptional campaign leaving football fans everywhere open-mouthed. Despite agreeing a new contract in principle, the striker had a change of heart, claiming that Barca did not respect the terms of the contract on offer. As a result, he signed for Inter Milan.
Sonny Anderson
Anderson arrived as a replacement for Ronaldo and understandably struggled to fill the void created by his departure. He joined Barca after several good seasons with Monaco but failed to impress and left the club with just 16 goals to his name.
Rivaldo
Another player who enjoyed great success with Barca. He was so successful that he even won a Ballon d'Or during his spell with the club. However, after scoring 23 goals for the Catalans, he was sold to AC Milan for a rather modest €4.5m. Not quite a fitting ending for a player of his quality.
Ronldinho
What is there to say about 'Ronnie'? After 'that' goal in the 2002 World Cup against England and serious interest from Sir Alex Ferguson, he chose to sign for Barca. He shone during his time at the Camp Nou, famously performing so well in a 'Clásico' that even Real Madrid fans stood up to applaud him. He later moved on to AC Milan but his powers were already on the wane by then.
Dani Alves
Another Brazilian who eventually quit the Camp Nou. After eight seasons in Catalonia, the right-back called time on his Barca career. Sadly, he didn't leave on the best of terms and tensions still exist between the player and Barca officials.
