Speaking to 'Sport', Balotelli did not hesitate in vocalising his opinions regarding the world's best. The Italian striker even chose Suarez ahead of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite missing out on the Barcelona 2-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao due to suspension, Suarez has enjoyed a string of excellent performances this season, with Barcelona topping La Liga.
Balotelli was also not swayed by statistics, given that Suarez has scored 21 La Liga goals compared to Messi's 25 thus far. Both Messi and Ronaldo are displaying their talent in Europe and at home. Real Madrid knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League whilst Barcelona's Messi ended his dry spell against Chelsea.
The Nice defender also noted that he thought Edinson Cavani was a stand-out as the best player in Ligue 1, although he also noted that he couldn't quite square up to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Speaking in a recent interview, Balotelli said [of Cavani] ''he has scored a lot of goals in the last two years. I have a lot of respect for Cavani, because he’s a top player, but Ibra played less.'' he added that ''you can't compare Zlatan with Cavani, Zlatan is in another dimension.''
