Despite winning the Premier League in his first competition, clashes over the club's transfer policy and patchy form have seen Conte at ends with the directors at Chelsea, and former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could be about to swoop in.
"I said very clearly, I have a contract to 2019. I want to respect it but anything can happen in football. I'm happy here but to move forward with the marriage everyone needs to be in agreement. My intention is to continue. In our line of work, we always have a bag packed. My intention is to remain here, but if something were to change, there would be several different scenarios opening up," Conte said.
One of those scenarios for Conte would likely be his former post at the Italian national team, managerless since failing to qualify for the World Cup, and should he take them up then the Dutchman would be open to a Premier League return.
Sacked by Manchester United only two days after winning the FA Cup, van Gaal was quoted in December as saying he could see himself at the helm of one of the 'Red Devils' league rivals.
