Dier, who has become a key player for 'Spurs' since signing from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in 2014, revealed that the North London side's consistent performance over the past few seasons is thanks in part to the fact that the squad are all friends outside of football.
"We get on very well on the field and off the field," he said. "There is fantastic chemistry."
The squad assembled by Mauricio Pochettino contains a large number of young players who have grown and improved together under the Argentinian manager, and Dier believes this has been a key factor in developing this chemistry. "I think after the manager’s first season here, there were a lot of young players going through the same thing at the same time," he explained. "There are great friendships and everyone likes each other which is a good thing."
The midfielder went on to sing the praises of the North London club, stating: "There is a fantastic group here, fantastic manager, fantastic set-up, fantastic project with the new stadium."
He also revealed the unusual method that the side have been using to bond recently: the card game Uno. "Uno is the game at the moment - I don’t even know how it started to be honest," he said. "It is addictive and now we are playing Uno more than anything else."
Pochettino's side will look to demonstrate the unity gained from playing the children's card game as they aim to go 15 games unbeaten on Sunday, when they travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.
