In stoppage time of the game at the Bernabeu, with Real Madrid leading 5-2 thanks to a hat-trick from the Portguese star and efforts from Lucas Vasquez and Toni Kroos, Benzema contrived to place an effort over the bar from inside the six yard box after good work down the left hand side.
Supporters behind the goal were not sympathetic and let Benzema know exactly how they felt about his current run of form. Ronaldo immediately reacted, waving his finger, shaking his head and applauding the fans sarcastically.
Despite having not scored in seven league matches, manager Zinedine Zidane couldn´t understand the crowd's reaction either: "I don't know why they're doing it. They can do what they want. Karim had chances but for him the most important thing is the next game and changing his run."
Speaking after 'Los Blancos' 5-2 victory over Sociedad, Dani Carvajal also came to the French striker's defence and offered the team's full support as Benzema looks to turn his season around in Real's next game, which is against PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday.
