English publication 'The Mirror' reports that United have made contact with Seri's representatives, with Pogba potentially set to leave the club this summer if he and manager Jose Mourinho cannot resolve their differences.
Pogba has suffered something of a fall from grace in recent weeks, having not played a full 90 minutes all month following a series of sub-standard displays.
The Ivorian is known to have been on United's radar for some time now, with the aformentioned source claiming that the 'Red Devils' sent scouts to watch the 26-year-old in Nice's 3-2 Europa League defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this month.
Seri is seen by United as a more all-round midfielder than Pogba, something that Mourinho values highly and it is believed that he would be ready made for the box-to-box role that Mourinho recently spoke at length about.
The Nice star is thought to have a £35m release clause in his contract, something which United could now be set to invoke with Pogba and Marouane Fellaini's futures uncertain and Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season.
