The ramifications of Sevilla's unlikely 2-1 victory are still being felt around the footballing world as the La Liga outfit progressed to the quarter-final stages of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Vincenzo Montella's side were allowed to dictate play throughout the second leg and took advantage through Wissam Ben Yedder, who scored two goals in quick succession to sink United's European dreams.
Speaking after the match to 'Sky Sports' and 'beINSports', N'Zonzi admitted that Sevilla feared the worst after failing to take the lead in the first fixture at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuán Stadium.
"I think we played well at home, but we didn't score that goal, so we knew it was going to be very hard here at this stadium. But at the end, in football anything can happen and we proved it, so that's great.
"Even myself, I thought they were going to press a little bit more, but the first 20 minutes we saw that we could keep the ball, we could play our possession game the way we like and we just kept going until the end."
Now, though, the midfielder is looking toward the next stage and is hoping for another strong defensive performance from his team-mates.
"Anything is possible. That's football. Just two games, so in two games you can beat anyone.
"We know that it's hard, it's always hard against those big teams, but we proved that anything can happen in football."
The draw for the quarter-finals takes place at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon on Friday with Roma, Juventus, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid also through with Sevilla.
